This is one of the best experiences I’ve had in New Zealand. Hiking made me feel alive and I was surprised by the beauty of New Zealand over and over again!
We hiked to Meg hut, did the Kepler track and the Milford track straight after each other. Nine days of hiking became my first overnight hike. And it was AWESOME.
I never would have thought that I was capable of doing this. I mean, growing up in a city without an outdoor background in a country without mountains, yes this was out of my comfort zone. Before I came to New Zealand I never had walked for more than 2 hours. Now I’ve done 8 hours a day. And I loved it!
This trip made me so much stronger physically and mentally. You are so much more capable of than you think! You just gotta believe in yourself and carry on, no matter what. With hiking, and with life.
My biggest struggle was my knee injury. I’m really thankful for my amazing friends who supported me with this. I loved spending time with these guys and hopefully, one day, we can do it all over again <3.
